Yup, everyone’s dead, ‘cept me. Why am I still alive, after this horrifying epidemic swept away millions, and left the capitol in ruins? I can’t rightly say, I’m afraid. But I think you better move on, son.
Something about Democrats being in power that softens their spines. It’s not only Democrats and it’s not only politics, however. When they ordain a bishop, the new bishop (kneeling) is disappears in a crowd of other bishops who lay their hands on him/her. The joke is that while nobody can see the new bishop, the others are busy removing his/her spine.
You can thank the supreme court for that decision. When big business was allowed to “contribute” to their campaigns it was all over for democracy. I think it was the valejo vs. fist national bank of boston which allowed companies to do that sort of thing in the first place.
Why do you think the republicans don’t want a public option? Hint: Healthcare is 3% of our GDP.
If people are stupid and shortsighted enough to elect these bozos year after year after year then they must feel all warm and fuzzy that their elected officials have great health insurance and are paid great sums of money to keep everything the way it is…and that we are not ‘socialized’ and the ‘nazis’ havent taken over……
The vast majority of people complain about the situation in Washington, yet these same people re-elect better than 90% of the folks that they’re complaining about.
The solution is simple. Adopt a no incumbents policy. When election time comes around, think NO INCUMBENTS. If the elected realized that they only were going to be in there for one term things would operate a little differently.
