The pandemic sure puts a different twist to this. I never liked working from home, but I could (and did) do it when needed. Some corps have figured out that without offices they save the cost of offices which includes the cost of caffeine, chairs and other office supplies… And you can bet the workers don’t get a corresponding raise.

In my personal experience the idea that workers are less productive if they work from home is a fallacy. Not having to deal with traffic, not having to settle in once I get to work and clock in, being able to take time to get the comics in before work, it just makes for a better employee all the way around. A friend of mine is so happy he does not have to waste 2 hours on the bus every day, is also turning out to be a more productive employee.

I have been working from home since, well I don’t remember when I started. I wasn’t sure I would like it. It feels like I am more productive. I usually have less interruptions, but there can be issues with the WIFI and connection issues with our servers. Seems like more meetings too, we use Microsoft Teams.
