Eventually the remote will get bored and do something different.
You need to go farther back in the procedure than the menu. Unplug it.
My wife was disappointed when our new TV did not have all the knobs and dials of her old 1960s TV. I showed her the menuing system and explained it would take about 50 knobs and switches to replace the menu and would cost thousands of dollars.
