Jack put on another Marx Brothers movie last night. They are very talented men, but their brand of humor gets old fast.

Oh, Jan, have you found a substitute for free jigsaw puzzles on line? I thought you mentioned it a while back. I loved the format of the old one, but their Flash Player doesn’t like Firefox and my security software.
We went out for our walk this morning while it was 65 degrees outside. Between the exercise and the sunshine we never did get too cold. We walked a lot farther than we usually do, and now both of us are a bit sore. It did feel good, though.
I finally got started on my canvas portrait. The kit recommended to start in the upper left hand corner and do all of one color all over the canvas. I did that, and it looks a little strange. It will be fun seeing all of it come to life. There are 36 colors, and if I do one per day allowing things to dry for a day in between, I should be done by Christmas.
We’re getting highs in the mid 80’s now and we’re leaving the doors & windows open because it never gets all that hot inside. I do so love the fresh air at this time of year, even if it is tainted by a bit o smoke.
I am taking it easy today. I have a pork butt in the slow cooker which I will shred later and cover with BBQ sauce. I also made coleslaw and a very simple dessert for a very easy family dinner tonight. Weather wise we are having another beautiful, sunny day. It is already 82, which is our high for the day. Rain and lower temperatures will return on Friday. The trees have dropped about 50% of their leaves so far and it won’t be long before they have all dropped.
