Yeah, you know where everything is like this!

A famous electrical engineer, Bob Pease, had stacks and stacks of papers, books, etc. in his office. When asked about some article or design, he could locate the pertinent article in a few seconds. An amazing memory.

The real, and only reason, is because I said so. Argue with Mom at your peril.

Mom is teaching some important values. Keep it up! His future wife will appreciate the effort.

Well young man it so happens that I am the one who determines the proper place, and I’ll let you know when I’am satisfied.

Young people tend to like knowing where everything is, which often means in sight and most wanted/needed first spotted and quickest to hand. Maybe Mom and Dad can help him to do both, but telling him he is organizing possibly wouldn’t be a good idea for a while.

My desk looks like his room and I know where everything is. Keeping it clean though is something that he MUST learn and do. Ironically, it is easier to clean when everything has a place….

That’s why kids put ‘Do not enter’ signs on their doors.

Oh man, I do have a messy room at my adult age. It’s such a chore having to clean up my room.
