Had to hire a roofer. Reputable company. Recommended by a friend, who used them twice and was very happy with their services. They tried to scam me out of an additional $6,000. It always seems to happen to me.
More like, “I got the sink and dishwasher out, and then realized they both are back ordered for two more weeks… sorry, and this will cost you 3 times the estimate since I have to wait around for the order.”
We needed a new bathroom counter and sinks, we wanted a composite like Corian, not marble or granite for the countertop. Could not find a contractor who would take on such a small job, we kept getting quotes for more replacement cabinets (not needed) or other work beyond the counter or huge quotes for expensive marble or granite. We were finally resigned to just replacing the old sinks until our neighbor suggested trying Lowes or Home Depot. Fast forward to a month later – brand new composite counter (exactly what we wanted), nice new sinks and faucets. The price came in at less than half the lowest quote we were offered by the private contractors, and the work was excellent. Sometimes it does pay to go with the big box stores.
