I bet one of Herb and Jamaal specialities is Hoppin-Jack (stewed blackeyed peas on rice), served with ham, corn bread muffins, a tossed green salad, and chard sprinkled with peperoncini vinegar.
It is one of my favorites… we always eat it on new years. (It is an old wives tale that the more blackeyed peas you eat, increases the amount of coins you will have in the new year, and the more chard you eat, increases the amount of cash you will have in the new year).
