Exactly “W”s rationale for bombing Afghanistan, not just the Al Qaeda camps. Then that little “thing” in Iraq.

I’m glad Osama’s gone, but regret our poorly played game of “hide and seek”- which was far off base from the start.

Dubya gets absolutely NO credit for completing JOB #1 - hunting down and disposing of Bin Laden. Bush-Dick / Rummy took their eyes of the target at Tora-Bora, and swithched focus to Pappa Bush’s nemesys in Iraq. Their short-sighted strategy in Iraq succeded as far as the invasion, but failed miserably in dealing with the aftermath.

Credit for catching Bin Laden goes to Obama and Pinetta.

^ So Obama then gets sole credit for the years of searching, even when he was a Senator, as well as the key information which was derived via water-boarding during Bush?

    Now that’s a slippery slope.

An honest and fair person would give proper credit where credit is due. Every investigative person, intelligence person, executive in charge and all those involved… yes, even those who did the water-boarding and were able to verify the information off of another detainee. Furthermore, the troops involved in practicing for this raid and then putting that training to use, etc. They all deserve their fair credit. And this wasn’t something that was ever put aside, as those who have been involved, who could speak to that, have done so.

But, then again, I don’t exactly expect that kinda honesty and fairness from you either. Instead, I expect pure political bias. Hopefully, one day, you’ll prove me wrong on my assessment of your character.

DjG, I haven’t heard that tortured prisoners supplied the information for finally locating Bin Laden. Do you have any sources for that claim, or is it just more wishful thinking and white-washing of Bush-Dick’s failed mission?

Last I saw Rumsfeld did NOT verify that the information came directly from torture.

My only problem with the whole “Bush v. Obama” thing is people want to give credit to Bush for this event, but when it comes to debt and deficit, that’s “blaming Bush” unless of course Carter or Clinton can be identified, in which case that’s okay. Probably goes the same the other way, too.

Good job SEAL Team 6, and good job Obama for telling them to get proof and DNA and not just bomb the place like they wanted to.

Rumsfeld in fact verified that torture did NOT produce the most useful information, and while one tortured party pointed to the courier, two others gave different, misleading information even under torture. Kind of settles THAT debate. If even Rumsfeld said it didn’t work, it didn’t.
