Interesting that my memory of (a few years after that time) is that we kids were mostly aware of Nazis (not in great detail) and had no idea of fascism, though I did hear of “ill doochay” a couple of times. Now it seems almost the opposite (though I’ve no contact with youngish kids to ask them).
Interestingly, this joke structure can also be applicable using say, Union and Confederate soldiers on a Civil War battlefield and using “Traitors” instead of “Fascism”…
