They (the ubiquitous “they”) say we’re living in unprecedented times and that almost every action taken by Trump is unprecedented.
I wonder if it’s ever occurred to anyone, especially to those on the Right, that EVERYTHING that they allow Trump to get away with now, becomes “acceptable”. And when it’s a democrat in the White House (Trump can’t hide behind the “Resolute Desk” forever), all the “things” they allowed Trump to get away with will also become acceptable for a democrat to get away with!
Remember the old saying I keep bandying about concerning how “what’s sauce for the goose is also sauce for the gander”? Well, it’s true.
And democrats have already compiled a looog list of laws and regulations that need “teeth” added because too much of our ideas on governance is based on the assumption that we would have politicians that believed in the “Rule of Law”, and it is clear that at least half our government no longer believes in the concept (if they ever did!)
Now that we have established that we are dealing with mental children, we must reestablish laws and regulations that brook no “misinterpretation”!
A very good example of this is the “Hatch Act” – currently, it applies to all federal employees – except the president and vice-president – That’s crazy! All laws should apply equally across the board to everyone! Oh, and no more letting the person breaking the law deciding who gets charged, either. An independent “judiciary” works just fine – now we need an independent justice department, as well.
The idea of having a Justice department under the control of a clearly “criminal” president has been exposed as unworkable; it needs to be changed!
And any law worth having is worth putting teeth into. No more “wrist-slaps” – we need jail time and loss of position as a consequence of breaking the law
Like all cult leaders, Li’l Donnie is slightly less of an imbecile than his cult followers. More insane, possibly, but slightly less of an imbecile. Should that reassure us? And as for the “justice” department: I don’t know why we’re shocked to find out that our Attorney General is a crook. After all, we have two of the damn things on the Supreme Court!
No surprise there. But recognize that they are coming from both of the extremes and topped off by some that just do it for the thrill of seeing the violence they initiate.
The current owner of a business said no to a photo-op with Tiny, so they got the previous owner to do it. And little piggy cried “me! me! me!” all the way home.
