Earl: Dad, I know you've been pretty busy entertaining His Excellency... but things are getting pretty backed up in the office. It'd be good if you actually showed up once in a while. Duke: You sound a bit stressed, boy. Earl: Do I? Maybe it's because we flack for three regimes currently slaughtering their own people! Duke: Though hard to complain in this economy, right, son? Man: What a baby! Earl: See you in the car.

Unless Pres for Life got money out he will need to get a new identity and a job. I am thinking a Florist shop? Perhaps a cake business? Dog grooming?

“I hope not P.D. - the military should only kill in defense of the country, not for some mythical, murderous invisible sky-daddy.”
Spamgaard; T. Jefferson once wrote to a friend that, “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”
The US has not been in a “war” (declared by Congress) since WW II, all others have been “Police Action’s”, Incursions, or conflicts. all have been to either rid an area of a tyroant of to insure the freedom of a people (yeah, even Vietnam where I served twice.)
Killing “in the defense of the country” as a justification for going into battle is what got the US involved in WW II after the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. The American people were quite content (for the most part) in being isolationist, and letting Europe take care of its own problems. The problem with that attitude is that the “big pond” (the Atlantic) keeps getting smaller, and so does the Pacific. Look at what the N. Koreans are supposed to be able to do with their “inferior” (my take of the information given of their arms) rocket they have. It is reported that the range of the missile is such that it cn reach the West Coast of the US. True or not, that is frightening.
Taking out a “tyrant,” whether it be Saddam or Osama, by the US or by someone else, has become the necessity of our day and age, because what affects the people in Cairo now also affects the people in Boston.
We had graffiti on the “latrine” walls in Vietnam (I’ve seen nicer out-houses in rural America!), one of which was, “Fighting for peace is like F*ing for virginity.” Yes, violence begets violence, but there comes a point when you out-violence the other guy and make him think that “enough is enough, these B’s are going to kill me.” That is when the diplomats (who failed to keep us out of the situation) can go back and try to get things smoothed out again.
al Queida is not going to go away, and I assume that they are going to keep trying to inflict their beliefs on the rest of the world, whether we want them to or not, but al least they now understand that America (and the World) has a long memory and longer arms, and might be a lot mor circumspect in how they go about gaining their domination of the world.

The photos of bin Laden’s corps were taken folks, but from what I understand, they are of a grizzly nature, and not suitable for the general distribution papers of the “Evening News” on TV. In case you are too young, or that you care to forget, there was a lot of hell raised when either a Time or a Life photojournalist took a picture of the Vietnamese National Chief of Police summarily executing a Viet Cong prisoner. The photo was at the moment the bullet exited the prisoners head. A lot of people objected to it. Think about how many more would scream now.
As for the conspiracy theorists who claim Osama hasn’t been executed, etc, etc; show me some form of proof for your position. I was never Special Operations, but I have worked around and near them before, and as someone here said a few days ago, if a SEAL said they got bin Laden, believe it, they got him.
Well done SEAL Team Six. Enjoy your recovery, and then get ready for your next mission.
