The birth certificate hoorah is really about who is listed on it as his father.

kreole: For constitutional purposes, the father is not relevant.

kreole must be getting increasingly desperate, since OBAMA IS A CITIZEN!!! He’s a citizen through his mother; he was born in Hawaii – which makes him more of a citizen than John McCain, who was born in the Panama Canal Zone, which wasn’t US territory at the time.

vortex, WHY do you keep trying to hjack the comment forums?. First it was that ‘union thug’ comment on the Auth cartoon about natural gas, and now you’re trying to bring Paul Ryan into this thread.

Myself, I think the second sign should read, “Where’s Your White Hood?”

Those of the normal persuasion just cannot believe our luck that this birther nonsense is still active. Along with all of the short-bus characters wanting to represent the Republicans in 2012, we now have their colleagues revealing just how ignorant and unqualified they are to represent their party. We Democrats appreciate all you do in assuring that President Obama will have another term to reverse the damage your party has caused. Please continue to lie and obfuscate and pout and throw tantrums. We just love it!

No harley…you have seen what were PURPORTED to be those things, on the far-right blogs you frequent.

Either that, or they came to you by way of viral e-mail

Here’s what really has me ROFL at your expense. You’re soooo convinced that you have irrefutable evidence here…but you cannot remember whether your, ‘Ladies Birth Certificate ( Whatever the heck that is. ) was issued, ‘a day before or a day after’ Obama’s birthday.

LUIS ASt……you missed the point….I’m beyond the citizenship part because Obama is obviously a citizen. Yes, the father’s name is not constitutionally relevant, but I’m making the point that Obama’s book, “Dreams of My Father” was a lie in that Obama knew the man he wrote about was not his father. He was his mother’s husband, but NOT his father….and he knew it. Furthermore, Obama doesn’t want it known that he is illigitimate…..it doesn’ t rhyme with “The Annointed One”.

^You know I just hope for the birthers’ sake, that someone running a Nigerian Banker Scam never gets hold of their e-mail addys.

Coz these folks will obviously swallow ANYTHING they read in their mailbox.

Time to point out that McCain was born in Panama. I think birthers are hurting their party.

Birthers do a good job of making all conservatives ridiculous – and also, hopefully, will make people question their other faulty logic and data-free arguments.

Supply-side economics, for instance, the lie used to make the Ryan budget proposals appear to be budget-neutral.

I’m as tired as anyone over the Birther’s ludicrous claims, but come on Liberals, let’s at least be honorable. John McCain’s father was an American citizen, serving his country on a military base in the canal zone. John McCain’s mother was also an American citizen, and accompanied her husband to his duty station, where John McCain was born. Anyone who does not understand that that makes John McCain a natural born citizen is even crazier than the Birther’s.

^ I was just stating a fact. I just finished discussing a picture of a dust storm in Australia that someone sent captioned as a picture of the tsunami. Every week I get false emails, and the people who send them never check out their crap.

Republicans are taking the real problem out of the discussion: We had 8 years plus two more years of unfunded wars, and shipping our jobs overseas. We are not addressing either of those problems.
