I’m suddenly reminded of a cartoon that ran in a magazine three or four decades ago, with a coach pointing at a play diagram in just this manner (but with no virus). One of the players, who looked as if his I.Q. was likely expressed by two digits, suggested, as best I remember his shockingly erudite phrasing, “But, sir, will not such actions provoke retaliation, and should we not, instead, consider conciliatory diplomacy?”
