The problem with debt is not who or how much we tax it is how much we spend. I guess the debt ceiling is less of a ceiling and more of an imaginary line! Teenagers can be taught what a credit card limit is but apparently not a Congressman. Like I am sure the first time your kid maxes out a credit card your first response is to go to your boss and demand a pay raise. Now I know some of you can’t relate to that example but YOU do understand it. It also seems the Administration has some trouble obeying laws. Everything from bamacare to illegal border crossings is fair to ignore. So much for knights in shinning armor! I’ve already decided that a tree stump would make a better President.
The problem is not what we spend, it’s what we tax. Taxes have never been lower since world war 2, and over 16,000 people making over $500,000 last year didn’t pay any income tax. We’ve cut America’s competitiveness and standing in the world to the bone. What else are you going to cut? I’m not wild about the idea of letting seniors and the poor die in the streets. Every other country in the world outcompetes us on how we treat our own citizens.
If you don’t take in enough money to buy food, you starve. The Republicans have been starving the system, while the wealthy eat caviar, and bank in the Caymans, where they also vacation, on tax-free “incomes”. That’s the fact, Jack.
vortex, we already have term limits, they’re called elections! No gets into office unless they are voted in by the people in there districts. Do you really want to take away there right to vote for their candidate? Besides with term limits, politicians would have no responsibility to the voters Why bother doing what’s right when you are going to get kicked out no matter what you do? Might as well suck up to lobbyists, in exchange for being hired after holding office…

We need to elect more poor people, who understand the concept of actually having to pay off bills.

Raise the top rate to 90%. Tax the billionaires and corporations that created this mess.

So, taxing income earned in foreign countries is now a loophole, eh? What’s next?

It’s just a flood levy being opened in hopes to not break through the ceiling…
