The conservatives are going to rescue us from the GOP? That will be a hell of a trick to see.

Try writing S O S in the sand. Apparently that really does work!

As there’s no rescue in sight, comically or literally, discussion is moot.

Today’s conservatives would probably blame you for being shipwrecked and insist it’s your responsibility to rescue yourselves, especially if you develop too dark a tan while you’re stuck there.

Just as a matter of curiosity, just when have conservatives ever “saved” us?

My father-in-law and I were up in Maine on his boat last summer and the motor was overheating because a bearing on the water pump was shot. We were dead in the water. He got on the radio looking for a tow back to his mooring. The only response came from a lobster boat captain who had to go quite a bit out of his way to get to us and then further still to tow us to the mooring. The lobster boat had a huge TRUMP flag. Dad is a hardcore lib. But one act of kindness by somebody who is at the opposite end of the political spectrum caused him to reevaluate how he thinks about “those people”.

Moral of the story: Don’t judge people solely on their political views and be kind to all. Tomorrow we’ll discuss “sharing” and “waiting your turn” :)
