A fine tribute to film actor Michael Shannon, who played diner patron “Fred” in the film classic “Groundhog Day”.

(He’s the one Bill Murray gave the WrestleMania tickets to as a wedding gift. And today is WrestleMania!)

When is Guy Fieri’s ‘Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives’ visiting Corky’s Diner?

My parents would sing in two part harmony while they did the dishes (no automatic dishwashers back then), nothin’ could be finer than to be in Carolina in mornin’ was a regular part of their repertoire. Thanks for bringing back a nice memory

Jim lives in (North) Carolina, Roohey, and I hadn’t made the connection until you said that. Of course there’s always some controversy about where Gasoline Alley is (and originally was) located, but it seems clear that Jim draws inspiration from his local scene quite a bit.
