The sun is trying to burn a hole in the clouds, and it’s doing pretty well right now. The weather report says: Light rain in the morning and breaks of sun in the afternoon. A high of 79. (^.^)

The road to Burlington is paved with road construction, well maybe not that bad. We got’er done and got back home.

As far as I know nothing of any kind going on today with the exception of, mail, quick stop and home. :-l

All y’all have a beautiful and blessed day.

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

A quiet day planned today. The family will be here this afternoon for diner. All week they said today would be sunny and last night they changed to rain. Hopefully it will be dry long enough for me to grill chicken. It is 66 and sunny at the moment.

    Everyone have a wonderful day.

    Good Cloudy morning, Vagabonds.

The sky is practicing for the weekend. Saturday and Sunday are expected to water the grasses and trees, so it’s quite cloudy today.

We were just told that the Store that has hosted our Cancer Support meetings has just closed her doors. My heart is heavy for her and her family. She has been serving the cancer community for over 6 years, and this virus has closed her down.

    xoxo Happy Trails

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

Today will be a typical Thursday, with nothing happening in particular around here. In Las Vegas it’s a different story, however. The casinos are reopening today. Some of the big resorts are offering free air fare to Vegas in order to entice visitors.

I sat down with a old favorite book yesterday (and finished it in one day): “Circus Doctor” by JY Henderson. He was the veterinarian for the Ringling Bros. circus starting in 1941. I met him on two different occasions, the second being in 1977 when he was getting ready to retire. He autographed the book for me. He pioneered a lot of the treatment of wild animals. The circus in those days traveled with an extensive menagerie, including everything from camels to exotic birds and a pygmy hippo. These animals were just for show like a zoo, they did not perform in the big top at all. In all, the circus had over 700 animals, about half of which were performers. Henderson had a big job!

Having just read 4 of the James Herriot books about being a vet in Yorkshire in the same time era, it added a different dimension to this book, comparing the two. Henderson wrote a lot about the animal trainers and how much respect he had for them while Herriot wrote about the farmers and his respect for them. Two different worlds, but both quite interesting.

Continuing hot around here. Yesterday was 102 and today’s forecast is for 106.

    Everyone have a blessed day.
