There is some logic here! Trump was treated worst than Lincoln. Trump didn’t wear a mask at the Ford plant and Lincoln didn’t wear a mask at Ford’s Theater. So, therefore we have this obtuse rendering of Gettysburg. Was this paid for with an National Endowment for the Arts grant?
Was there a pandemic happening at the time of the Gettysburg address? Is Trump being likened to Lincoln? Where is he going with this? I don’t see what connection or point is trying to be made.
We live in a time when everything the President does or says is a comedian’s wet dream and this is what Payne comes up with? Is he picking up the crumpled paper from the other comics to find the worst ideas? I understand the comic, I just think its poorly conceived.
Lincoln was an American Icon, a Legend…and smart enough to wear a mask during a pandemic. Trumplestiltskin, aka President Bone Spurs, only wears a mask of a President of the United States.
No one interrupts the president while he is giving a speech. Not then. Not now. Payne is committing two wrongs. First, he implies that Trump is anything like Lincoln. Secondly, he implies that the question of masks is not apropos.
The Republican Party began in 1854 as the Liberal Party in the U.S. Lincoln, elected in 1860, was the Republican Party’s first Liberal president. Republican Teddy Roosevelt was a Liberal. The Republican Party had a Liberal wing through the 1960s led by Thomas Dewey. It was Nixon’s ‘Southern Strategy’ in 1968 that converted conservatives in the South to the GOP. Imagine the South supporting ‘the party of Lincoln’. The joke was on them. If Lincoln were president today Republican/conservatives would impeach him.

I believe this guy is trying to equate Trump with Lincoln, which is like equating Mortimer Snerd with Orson Welles.

When you don’t think Payne is stupid enough, he shows you there’s no depth to his stupidity.
Hint Abe Lincoln has been dead a long time, and Trump as as far removed from Lincoln as John Wilkes Booth.
