Invading other folks’ countries makes or keeps us free how, exactly? (The creation of a “Department of Homeland Security” seems like the frankest possible admission that “Department of Defense” is a complete misnomer.)
Propaganda to justify our wars and conflicts, under the guise of freedom, that we have been involved in since WWII. Nationalism cleverly disguised as patriotism.
Its a high cost because we have No Federal Testing Program. 90,000 lives could have been saved with a Federal Testing Program. Instead Republicans gave tons of money to billionaires and corporations. You will have to pay for that with your taxes.
“Anyone who wants a test can get one,” lied the orange skinned crazy the totally corrupt Republican senate keeps in power. Not a dime for the American people.
L.B.J. knew he was in trouble when he “lost” Walter Cronkite and decided not to run again. Trump should do the same when seeing more of the right-wing cartoonists moving to the left.
Exactly what freedoms are you referring to? I haven’t perceived freedom since I was born (a long time ago). Not if I have to be numbered to work, have a business, play in the only monetary game in town which is destructive to prosperity; and have to be tracked and traced to travel on the public roads which used to be recognized as a right …. should I go on?
There seems to be a bit of confusion about “freedom” and what it means. Does it mean anarchy, or does it mean being able to live as one sees fit, so long as they do no harm to others? It is apparent that at least half of the foment favoring the former is coming from bots which, of course, are being financed by someone. The people we see on the steps of the legislatures are dupes, stirred into action by unseen agitators who know where their buttons are. The whole point is to get people back to creating wealth for the elite. So what if some die…..

The cost of freedom — unless, of course, you have bone spurs.
That’s how you can tell the real patriots.

The cost of freedom to go to parties, church, or the beach is simply allowing older people to die.

Freedom has never been free. But some whine way too much about having to make any little sacrifice…

So many disparaging comments on such a comic that points out that our freedom is not free. tsk tsk

I wish someone would define just what that “freedom” is. As I see it, you are paying a heavy price for, token.. freedom.
