I love how it shows Lily’s one true love is herself.

    Today is:

National Memo Day. I write memos to myself all the time, but the message for today would be “do a lot of nothing”. I think I can remember that without writing it down.

    National Waitstaff Day

    National Red Cross Founder’s Day

National Strawberries & Ice Cream Day. I love strawberries & ice cream, but it’s too early for strawberries here. All you can find is the hard, dry. flavorless ones that are in the grocery stores. I’ll wait until I can get some good local strawberries (hopefully I can get some from my own back yard).

By the way. I finally got my printer up and running! I gave up on it a while back, but then I figured out the problem must lie with my USB cord. I bought a new one, but I misplaced it before I could use it. I found it again, but kept putting off connecting the printer until I finally decided I’d do it Tuesday night if it took me all night to do it. It seems like it did take all night. I didn’t really notice what time I started, but I finally got it up and printing at around 4:00 in the morning. But I’m happy to have accomplished one more thing on my vacation. Yesterday, I got some of my garden planted ( green beans, squash and watermelon). I would have planted some marigolds too,but it was so windy, the seeds would have been blowing away from me.

    Ches is such a romantic….not.

I love the singing on the back fence, however I’m not wasting expensive boots to throw at a cat.

Opening the back door and yelling scat would probably work just as well.

And I’m not sure flowers would be appreciated . A dead mouse would though.

I remember Snoopy saying he wouldn’t want to be a cat. He didn’t like the idea of a cold mouse on a foggy morning!

From yesterday’s comment – I tried growing strawberries from seeds once, just as an experiment and it didn’t turn out well. It’s best to buy plants, which you can get from many seed catalogs.

Ooooo! I really am having a good vacation because not only did I get my garden started, some lawn cleaning & grass mowing done and my printer up and running, but I just solved another problem I was having. For the past few weeks, I’ve been having trouble getting to my Microsoft Solitaire Collection games. The games wouldn’t load and when I finally got them to run one night, they eliminated all my past records, like win & loss statistics and the levels I had reached in my games. They had me starting all over at level one in all the games. And I had reached some high levels in those games and it took a long time to reach those levels. But just now, I tried again to get the games to work. I got a message I needed to re-sign in. I was not sure what my password was, so I had to reset that. And wonder of wonders, not only did the games load and play, but I got back ALL of my statistics! I got my game player name back too. So now I am back to level 98 on Klondike, Level 64 on Spider and Free Cell, level 65 on Pyramid and level 69 on Tri-Peaks! Happy Days are here again!

With the coming onslaught of summer tourists beginning this weekend and 5 months since a Trader Joes visit, yesterday I headed north before dawn for the beautiful drive to Carson City, enhanced by fresh snow on the mountains and great cloud formations from our clearing late storm. It was literally freezing the first few stops I made for the dogs, and cloudy whileI was shopping – likely their last shopping trip with me until October. Next stop was the Honda dealer but could not get them to budge from the sticker price of a new CRV. There were no other shoppers and with the current economy it seems like a good time to buy a new car at a discounted price.

I love Chesney’s depiction of Lily – I would expected something less flattering as he does with our lovely Annie.

Chesney evidently enjoys getting killed by Lily. Odd. His sort are usually into self-preservation.

Love the goofy picture of Lily in the second panel! XD Doubt that Lily would, though, so Chesney had better watch out! On another note, saw two robins, a bumblebee, and a banana slug while out walking today.
