marg MAY 21 UPDATE: So guess who called today? Mom! She figure out how to make a call with Facebook messenger video call. Boy was I surprised when I looked at my phone! She starting to come out of the hallucinations caused by the drugs they had her on. She still having them but she’s understanding that they aren’t real. Vivid as they may be. She’s happy in particular that “the strange woman staying in the house with dad” isn’t real. She was asking me about her when she called. She was not too happy with dad. Good thing he was out for a walk. Dad got a kick out of it. She’s also believe that some dogs and cats that she’s been trying to find homes for don’t actually exist. now that she knows she’s having hallucinations, she says she has a “tricksy mind.” Just like those tricksy hobbits. ;-) ( At least that’s where I think she gets them from.)
The doctor says that she aspirated some food into her lungs. So, they have put her back on antibiotics. They are now watching her like a hawk when she eats. She has a tendency to eat too fast. She’s going to have to learn how to slow down.
I’ll be down in Phoenix again tomorrow for a school related event. I’ll also be picking up and dropping off mom‘s birthday present. If it’s like Mother’s Day, she will wait until Saturday to open it with us on a video call for her actual birthday.
