    Howdy Vagabonds

Another Max day, sun’s up and shinning bright. Mostly sunny and a high of 77 an overnight low of 50.

Last night woke about one of the clock. Now sleeping in my underwear (not something you want to see) these nights and I was chilly. I got up and did my thing in the little room. Back in bed I pulled the cover over me. The next thing I knew it was four. Don’t happen that way most nights but, when it dose. (^.^)

Hope you all had a good night last night, and, a better day today. May God bless.

    Hola Vagabonds,

I posted quite late yesterday. My life seems to be somewhat different than what some of you are reporting doing right now, but Florida counts almost 50,000 cases of the virus and the hot spots are the three counties of in the area known as South Florida where I live (my county is in the middle of the three, with no escape, as the Atlantic Ocean is on our east and the steamy Everglades is to the west). Florida has a total of 67 counties and a population of more than 21 million. The total population of just our three “South Florida” counties is over 6 million people (which is probably more than the pop. of the states of Montana, Nevada & Vermont added together). I haven’t been inside a grocery store, or any other store, since March. My scheduled doctor’s visit was by telephone, and everything else on my schedule was cancelled, including a hair cut. Our beaches will be reopening on Tuesday…so we’ll see how things go. I will be watching the stats on the online Florida Department of Health’s COVID-19 Data and Surveillance Dashboard for a couple weeks after Memorial Day and the Beach openings before I start venturing out and about (if then).

Thanks for welcoming me here as I get through living though a pandemic in hot spot, taking one day at a time. Wasn’t there a book titled, “Love in the Time of Cholera”? For me, this site is “Friends in the time of COVID.”

Speaking of books, has anyone read, “Where the Crawdads Sing”? I read it for a book club discussion back in March…and then the discussion was cancelled. —Florchi in South Florida, USA

    Good Cloudy morning, Vagabonds,

Another Spring-ish day in Montana. Looks like the mountains at the south rim of the valley are getting some more of that wet stuff. We only have a 20% chance this afternoon, so we’ll be dry.

I read with interest you description of your life, Florchi. I can’t even imagine living (again) in such a populated area. When we lived in the San Fernando Valley area of L.A. the population was over 2 million. Our entire state has just over one million.

We’ll be heading out to a grocery store for a few necessities. Even on the busiest days, it’s a piece of cake to keep the 6 ft. distancing.

    xoxo Happy Trails

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

What a difference a day makes! The forecast has been revised from 98 to 83 for today. And next Friday’s predicted 118 has been lowered to 103. The wind is blowing and it feels really nice outside today.

When we met for prayer on Tuesday I asked the pastor about our usual last Sunday communion service. He said that he didn’t see how we could with the restrictions in place. I offered to provide some of those little prefilled and sealed communion cups and said “please” so he said okay. I went on Amazon to order them and I don’t know why but they have me a gift certificate that made the order free to me. They will be delivered here tomorrow, and I will take the unopened box with me to prayer next week.

The kitten has decided that it’s cuddle time, so he sits on my chest and puts his front paws and head on my right shoulder (he doesn’t like my left shoulder for some reason.) He’s big enough now that I have to support his weight with one hand so I am reduced to hunt and peck typing. I guess he’s not so much of a kitten anymore. But that’s okay. I love it when he wants to cuddle.

Not much on the agenda today. A good day to spend on the patio I think. Just enough wind to keep the bugs at bay.

Everyone have a blessed and safe day.
