Mildred the Manipulator. Jack just can’t say no to such an awesome power of persuasion.

Except for the last panel, this whole strip got redrawn for the published version. It’s all pretty much the same, just… slightly different. In the original, the receptionist was playing Solitaire, and it looked a bit more like the prospect of a new recruit gave Mike the ability to teleport. Also Mike had less hair.

Jack quickly became fundamental in the existence of “The Cormoran”. If Erin decides to make him her personal aide, his life could be hell and heaven at the same time.

“And the K sticks while the D doesn’t work.”

Ick, food and cigarette ash in the keyboard.

The most amazing keyboard malfunction cause I ever encountered (and I disassembled and reassembled several in my tech support years) was in the Brazilian Amazon where an ant had been crushed between the contacts.

I’d ask what the child labor laws are like in the UK…but I’m pretty sure Mike would more or less ignore them anyway if it meant more working hands at a low cost. :P
