Please keep in mind, though, the axiom that the American electorate always gets the government it deserves.

In 2016 we all knew that Donald Trump was a pathological liar and a narcissist as well as a self-admitted sexual predator, a racist and a bigot among his other disqualifications, and yet “the people” through the Electoral College elected him, anyway. So be it. We are currently reaping the results of that “experiment” in electoral politics.

Unfortunately, as a result of Trump’s overweening stupidity, democrats as well as the deserving republicans will be dying unnecessarily, but it was ever thus. Ah well, that is the way life seems to work., isn’t it?
