That’s how I’ve upgraded my electronic and computer stuff. Last laptop computer, I grabbed memory out of a damaged one tossed by the fire department. Took hard drive out of laptop with blown motherboard. Put Ubuntu 18.04 plus Win 8.1 the software read the bios and activated. Free lol
