    Given the way a grade school teacher (who probably doesn’t know unicorns) might write a play like this, Phoebe could play the part perfectly and still offend Marigold.

    Phoebe makes the assumption that she’s expected to act like an actual unicorn, rather than like the audience’s perception of one.

    Side note. Charlie Chaplin once came third in a Charlie Chaplin look-alike contest. Or at least, so goes the legend.
