Fear mongering again, huh? Some allegedly communist countries may look like that, but I’ll bet they were all third world countries to begin with and/or were dictatorships and not socialist.
I assume you are unaware that the 20 billion subsidy we give to big oil is actually socialism, but it seems to be OK if it is for the rich that don’t really need it.
You wouldn’t have to draw a cartoon like this if we had a healthcare system that worked for everyone. But your socialist military budget takes up most of the money Dana.
Do you remember in the news this past year that stores in the Socialist utopia of Venezuela could not even stock some of the basic necessities of life? People were rioting because there were no more supplies of toilet paper! Check and checkmate.
No, this is what our system is doing today. Democratic Socialism would have preparedness, rationing of supplies , etc in case of an emergency. We practiced Democratic Socialism during WW II and it worked out for us !!!
Depending on how you define “socialism”. Scandinavian countries are strictly speaking social democracies, but when American politicians advocate the same policies, they are called socialists. Actual American socialists, such as the DSA, define socialism (correctly, by the way) as an economic system where the workers control the means of production, with community regulation. Capitalism is a political system where the means of production are private property, that can be bought and sold for capital, and where profit is the be all end all goal. Hence the slogan “People, not profits.” Before any debate on socialism occurs, we must ascertain exactly what is to be meant by “socialism”.

Why? Why would that be what socialism would look like? What is the reasoning that brought you to that conclusion? A challenge to explain this!

If this is what you think Socialism looks like then you’re just further adding to the dumbing down of Americans.

No Dana, this is what capitalism looks like right now. Socialism is what Trump is using to try and fix it.
