I have an old pair of big full-coverage headphones with the left channel not working, & I refuse to throw them out. They’re great when the fire alarm goes off – I keep them next to my apartment door & pop them on before I open the hall door. People laugh but I don’t care – my 66yo ears ring bad enough as it is!

Never use both ear pieces or ave the volume too high. It’s dangerous to not be aware of your surroundings.
