Give him seconds and make him clean his plate. The stomachache/food poisoning will teach him.

The mom needs to say “GOOD! Then you can just starve!” “There will be more for us!”

Blech. There’s fungus among us. I don’t like mushrooms either.

I hate mushrooms. I don’t like the fact that they grab a pile of of horse bleeep, shove spores into it, then cover it with cow bleeep.

When you wash the mushrooms, you’re wiping FECAL MATTER off of them. How yummy is that?

Maybe you feel better about hormones, antibiotics, fertilizer, and pesticides, LoL…… thanks, as long as I wash off my mushrooms, I’m fine with their makeup. I can’t blame you if you don’t like the taste, but then as my Mom would have said, “all the more for the rest of us!”

worst yet, you are not suppose to “wash” mushrooms, just wipe off the “dirt”. Ugh

Any excuse to get out of eating a meal. This is it, Michael. Eat it or go hungry.

I always accuse the food of having been dropped on the ground when it has mushrooms in it.

I love the way Lizzy is taking it all in (and searching her own plate).

Maybe the life cycle of ground beef would be more palatable.

I love mushrooms … especially on pizza and in spaghetti sauce!

I used to not like broccoli as a kid but now I love it in pretty much anything.

I have a 2nd cousin who doesn’t like her food to “touch” each other so she wouldn’t eat a casserole to save her life … even if the alternative meant death from starvation!

As for Michael, I’d tell him to at least try it first before he declares his hate and disgust for it because he might actually like it after all! If that didn’t work, then I’d have to tell him that this isn’t a restaurant and I’m not a chef; this is what’s for dinner tonight. Eat it, don’t eat it … I don’t care. But if he doesn’t eat it, he’s not getting anything else in its place and he’ll just have to go hungry until breakfast tomorrow morning. Harsh, maybe. But I’m against raising picky eaters who won’t eat anything except hamburgers, pizza rolls, potato chips and candy bars, etc.! Unhealthy junk food is one of the many reasons kids are fat today.

GretchensMom, I did the same thing. My son did not die of starvation from missing a meal. And now as an adult, he credits his healthy eating habits for the fact that he’s never sick.

Allan V, you’re full of the very fecal matter you refer to regarding the commercial cultivation of mushrooms.

Anyone who complains about dinner at this house gets to eat puffed wheat cereal tomorrow with powdered milk and no sugar on top of it!

Amazing how quickly kids can learn to not hate something when the punishment involves puffed wheat…
