There will never be peace in Afghanistan as long as the Taliban exists, and they ain’t going away. That being said, I think any deal that can at least bring some improvement to the situation is welcome. Now, time to pull our men and women out.
And how cunning to hand “victory” to the Taliban (that’s what “they” call it) even as we didn’t bother to include the “legitimate government” of Afghanistan in the negotiations.
Still, it’s a good deal. I mean, the Talibani have promised to respect the rights of women. Which were spelled out well before the Dark Ages and codified in the Quran.
