The difference is that many South Asian Hindus, Muslims, Christians and yes, even Jews (the 20 who didn’t emigrate already to Israel and the West), are ethnically the same.
Has nothing to do with ethnicity in the US. It’s all about coming in legally and not being a burden to the taxpayers.
