Breen is, imo, considerably overstating the importance of this (as seems to be the case for most media). Yes, it’s news. Yes, it’s very bad for the folks who are in danger of becoming infected and worse for those who are already in that state. But how many people is that really? I’m pretty sure that like SARS and Ebola, we’ll soon see the spread slowing.

Feel free to note this location and rub my nose in it if I turn out to be a Pollyanna.

Oh yeah, don’t worry, since that GREAT MEDICAL EXPERT Rusty Lamebrains says that this whole thing is nothing more then “The Common Cold, Weaponized to take down trump”…

Right-wing radio host Rush Limbaugh claimed on his show Monday that the potentially lethal coronavirus afflicting several countries is nothing more than a “common cold” blown out of proportion by the media to take down President Donald Trump ― even as he also asserted it was a “bioweapon” created by China in a laboratory.

“It looks like the coronavirus is being weaponized as yet another element to bring down Donald Trump,” Limbaugh said at the start of his lengthy, misinformation-filled rant.

“Now, I want to tell you the truth about the coronavirus. … I’m dead right on this. The coronavirus is the common cold, folks.”

Coronaviruses comprise a large family of many viruses, ranging in severity from the common cold to more severe illnesses such as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), an epidemic that infected more than 8,000 people in 2003. A novel coronavirus, such as the current COVID-19 outbreak, is a new strain of the virus that has previously not been identified in humans, the World Health Organization clearly explains on its site.

Great shades of the Andromeda Strain (Michael Crichton, 1969). Shouldn’t our newly created Space Force have intercepted and shot it down? /s

Not to worry, Tiny says that with the coming of spring, and by May for sure, the warmer weather will kill off the virus and the problem will be solved. So just don’t go out of your house until May and you will be OK. Now does Tiny realized that as it gest warmer up north, it gets colder in Argentina and New Zealand – and does that present some sort of problem?

This.. is an expected outcome of far too many people on our planet. Nature takes care of excessive populations in the animal world.. and we forget, at our own peril.. we too are animals. Science will likely stop this one.. but as the population continues to grow.. Nature will win.

My dad used to say “prepare for the worst, expect the best, and be happy if it falls someplace in between.” It’s always better to be prepared before the emergency happens rather than afterwards.

This Administration has ensured that we are NOT prepared for the worst event scenario. We, as individuals will have to prepare our ownselves for a catastrophic event probably equal in magnitude to the 1917 Spanish Flu pandemic. In so long as this Administration is in charge, we had better be able to count on ourselves because we cannot count on our so-called Democratic Republican government for any meaningful aid.

We are always talking about how the Republicans want all of us non-rich people to either die or submit to the Yoke of Oppression by the filthy wealthy. Now we’re going to see the true inhumanity of drumpth and cohorts. The only good thing that I can see coming out of this, is that it will not kill off as large percentage of the population as the tRumplicants are deep-down hoping to see die, but that just how incompetently it is being handled by this Administration will wake up the dRumpth’s and GOP’s voter base.

    Stay safe and well.

Precautions help! Although this lame rat in the WH got rid of the Infectious Desease Director, cut funds, What a trainwreck! The next President will have to start from scratch to fill all the empty cabinet members he fired, or quit. America is in shambles ….

Trump, in his destruction of all Obama-era institutions, has effectively destroyed all vestiges of our response teams built to counter the “ebola” virus and other possible ‘pandemics’ America might encounter.

Further, Trump’s response to the lasted virus attack is either laughable or pathetic, depending on your viewpoint, with the Trumpian “head” of the Trumpian Response Team going on “Twitter” to ask his followers to help him find a “map” showing the spread of the covid-19 virus!

If you’re old enough, this is playing out just like a Mack Sennett “Keystone Cops” short! While, back at the White House, “Chuckles, the Clown” is advising the American electorate that he “has this covered” and that the threat will disappear upon the advent of “warmer” weather!

And why is this? (I’m as old as Trumpy and I, too, remember being told by my mother that colds occur only in winter) – and I’m certain that Trump’s “mommy” told him the same thing.

The word”pandemic”is being tossed around in the media this week…..let’s not forget the 1918 flu epidemic, which was also taken lightly in the spring of 1918,only to return with a vengeance that fall and killed somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 million people WORLDWIDE…..food for thought…..

There is hope here, if we look for it.

trump loves crowds….crowds increase the risk of infection…trump catches the virus….coughs up a lung or both…and goes belly-up.

Happy ending? (Not a Bob Kraft happy ending, of course.)
