Mubarak could have held out longer if he’d had an oil spiggot in his wallet, like Qadafi, but his army didn’t give Sadat that much power in the first place. Governments are founded on the ideals of their revolutionary generals. Thank God for George Washington. The Egyptian generals seem to have followed his lead, it’s the people’s revolution. There are a few Lybian generals still going the banana republic route.
