I went to Weight Watchers when I was teenager. A story was told by the lecturer of a woman and a piece of cake.
The woman kept bothering her lecturer about wanting to eat a piece of cake. Finally the lecturer trying to think of how to stop the woman from continually asking about the piece of cake decided to tell her to do something to the piece of cake to make it disgusting so she would no longer want it.
The lecturer told her that next time she wanted a piece of cake to take the piece of cake to the sink and hold it under running water, figuring that the mess from same would turn the woman off.
The next week the woman came back and talked about how wonderful the piece of cake was. She had held it under the running water until all the calories were washed out of – just like the lecturer told her to do.
One never knows how someone will misinterpret what is intended in what one says.
