My mom’s dog would chase her ball and bring it back to you to throw again. When she got tired she’d take the ball and go under a big fern by the deck and lay her head on it.
My Golden Retriever, Shandy, would retrieve a stick thrown out into lake Washington forever, even when its shores were ice covered out to twenty yards , the scrabble over the ice, the launch into the water, the scrabble back over the ice edge back to me and the desperate look in his eyes that said “do it again”
I once decided to count how many times I could throw the tennis ball for my Border Collie before she’d get tired and stop. Dumb idea — if I hadn’t quit at 87 because I was tired, we’d probably still be out there. Never challenge a Border Collie!

Be sure to toss the stick into the muddiest puddle you can find!

Louie know where the mudpuddles are best and it’s OK to run through them while chasing the stick.

Toss the stick into the water, and get Louie washed off!

Yup—nothing beats a good game of Fetch during spring. Enjoy, Louie.
