It seems obvious to me that they’re in for trouble, probably not all that immediate. But (since it’s not directly my problem) I’m inclined to see what happens. Norway’s doing okay.

As the climate changes become so obvious a threat by reducing the habitable area of the planet we need more, not less, unity to either save our planet or find new planets to live on. No single isolated nation can accomplish either of these goals … none of us are as good as all of us. Turning the UK into another Cuba or NorthKorea will not make their problems or the world’s problems go away just make them more of a crisis.

There is an obvious solution to the problem. Have France, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Belgium step away from the European Union and form the European Coalition with Britain. The problems of EU come because it has been designed to profit Germany, and because of intergrating eastern europe countries.

The European Union was not perfect – no amalgam of individual states or countries is, but I have never grasped what the British objected to in its membership to the E.U. – it seemed to me that the advantages outweighed the disadvantages.
