Raises a thought provoking question. If the ice-cream man can make it to a southern tropical isle for the winter, how come the pirates in their sailing ship can’t?
NYC native here. The ice cream truck (Mr. Softee) made his first annual appearance Wednesday or Thursday. I guess after a no-snow February (nearly unheard of), he wants to get his start earning as soon as possible.
Greenfield Village in Dearborn Michigan isn’t open until April (closes in December). They have the best frozen custard stand. Even their “small cone” is larger than most elsewhere. It is located near the Sir John Bennet clock with Gog and Magog statues. People grab a ’cone and sit waiting for the clock to strike the hour, half and quarter hour and the statues strike the bells.
