I think in THAT era, they were still way too easy to poke the straw all the way through the back panel as well as the front, and juice boxes don’t do that (the ones where it was easy to separate the two sides of the top came a lot later)!
I always see people make jokes about this, with pouch drinks and juiceboxes, but it never happened to me. Has portable beverage technology advanced enough since that time? Or do I just have a weak grip?
