The fires there look so ferocious on TV. They’ll need Ma Nature to send them the kind of rain that’s needed to quench them. In the meantime, note that side comment and help them if you can.
We don’t like to have the real world in our comics (unless it’s really necessary).
Supporting fire victims is a good, “Let’s do something NOW” kind of thing. But sooner or later we’re going to have to deal with climate change.
I would expect that stream to be in flood and debris flow this soon after the torrential rains that put pause to the bush fires.
But we’re sorry for it happening there in the land down under. And you’ll be returning the favor to us if it happens to us again over here.
