I think most people think that food appears in the back rooms of supermarkets by magic to be stacked on shelves. I read one question on a forum: “I left my lettuce on the counter overnight, is it safe to eat?”. I informed them about farms and that the head of lettuce had been in the sun for months. They had no idea about the concept.
