There have been some humorous beer brands that were banned by the NY Alcohol Beverage Law Control Authority. One was “Santa’s Butt”. A butt is a large wooden beer barrel holding 108 imperial gallons. The label on Santa’s Butt showed a large jovial Santa Claus sitting on a beer butt with his backside towards the viewer and his head turned around to show a broad smile with a Christmas motif in the background. At one point the NY ABC board banned it because they thought it made beer attractive to underage kids. I think they later relented. You just can’t mess around with these old ladies.

About 10 years I spotted a wine Called Campobasso. I tried it and it became my favorite until the winery stopped selling it.

I have been known to buy a beer or wine just cause I liked the label.
