I was surprised to see Ed Byrnes’ obituary in the paper this past week. He’s most famous for “77 Sunset Strip” but he was in many of the original Mavericks and a couple of Warners’ western movies from the ’50s.

I bet guys like this don’t know a thing about many, many actors being alive, because they’ve never heard of them, because all they’ve ever watched are Westerns from the 50s and 60s.

Reminds one of that song by The Statler Brothers : Whatever Happened to Randolph Scott :-)

The original Maid Marian, Olivia de Havilland, from the 1938 Robin Hood, is still alive at 103!

Asked an old acquaintance if a mutual friend was alive, to which he replied “NO, he’s still dead.”

Phyllis Coates – the original Lois Lane on TV celebrated her 93rd birthday on Wednesday.

Poignantly timely … found out the other day my first wife passed away … I’ll remember it now, as it happens to fall on the same calendar date my father passed away < raise up a glass > …

not to quibble, but if you’re reading the obit the subject is not, technically, alive…
