I recently found something in my parents’ house that I built when I was about 10 yo. The quality is maybe better than what I built last year. Despite decades of trying, my projects got more complicated, but not better looking. I’m definitely not a born carpenter.
I have a set of book ends and a footstool I built in shop. 60+ years later they are still in good shape. And unlike my Walmart cabinets I’m not continuously tightening things.
