Dear Red, leave the worrying to the adults (most of us are really good at it) and just enjoy these days of youth and innocence with your faithful friend Rover. Trust me on this one, you’ll be a lot happier.
It’s a sad fact that it took this long for people to realize the impact that severe weather was having on our planet, in the 1970s scientists called it Global cooling. Just got married in 1970, remember the increase in severe weather events that surpassed the worst snow/rain/wind storms of the 50s and 60s. So red was right to ponder the situation, but he’ll bounce back with a few licks from Rover.
The world’s climate is a giant machine trying to create equalibrium. Highs and lows struggle against each other. Hurricanes suck in the heat while churning the ocean to bring up the cold. The day hot and cold are no more, the planet machine stops. If we are still alive at this point, we die.

You’re in 1970, now Red. The tragic event of that year was the Kent State Massacre.

Far too young to be a pessimist. Here’s to hoping this is a good year.

Not the Red I’ve come to know…don’t think kids in the 60s worried about those things!

I’m with you Red. And for those who wonder, I’ve been following climate change since high school. Do the math.
