Have you been talking to my boys Route Nine? Had to perform tree-age Thursday night after coming home to a flattened tree. Good thing I use non breakable ornaments …
If there is one ornament that is extra special pretty, that’s the one you break first. Just s my cats. They’ll tell you it’s so. I might put 5 or 6 glass ornaments on my tree these days, but I stick mostly with ones that don’t break.
Monkey Day. That’s according to my National Holidays email. But my desk set calendar has the 15th as Monkey Day. I think that paper calendar is wrong and I’ll settle for today alone as Monkey Day
Wreaths Across America Day
International Tea Day
National Alabama Day
National Bouillabaisse Day. Oh so that’s how it’s spelled! This makes me think back to my freshman year of high school where my English teacher expected everybody to be able to spell antidisestablishmentarianism. Many students groaned at the very thought of trying to spell this 26-letter word. But it’s actually quite simple to spell. But bouillabaisse is harder (in my opinion) to spell.
From yesterdays’ comments to WDemBlk – No, I don’t work Christmas Day. It’s the only day of the year we’re closed now. I work Christmas Eve, though. I’m scheduled to work until 6:30, but the store closes at 6:00, so they’ll likely let us out early. They usually do. Of course, we always have those last minute people trying to come in the store after 6:00 and some of them express shock and/or anger that we close early so associates can spend time with their families. I guess some people think we’re robots who don’t have families.
Yes, just 13 days to Christmas (12 now) so we’re working hard to fill our shelves with our Christmas stuff. There sure is a lot left! I was putting out so many Christmas paper plates and napkins today, I counted how many boxes I emptied. I stocked 34 boxes of just the paper plates and napkins. We had lots of empty shelf space where the product that belonged there was out-of-stock, so I just plugged that space with the plates & napkins.
I’m going to a Christmas concert at the high school tonight. We have a community band (the Iron Horse Coronet Band) and every year they organize a choir for a few weeks practice for the Christmas concert too. And I’ll also be hearing the grade school choir. It’s always a good show, but for most of the past 14 years, I worked nearly every Saturday unless I was on vacation so it’s been a good 6 or 7 years since I got to go to the concert. I’m looking forward to it.
Help! We were given a chance to do several different Christmas puzzles in our break room today. I completed both word searches (easy) and the crossword puzzle (also easy) and I unscrambled 19 of the 20 words. But I’m stuck on this one. Can anyone else figure it out?

It’s suppose to be a Christmas- related word. Thanks!
My golden retriever’s happy tail did more damage to my tree ornaments that my cat ever did. He was an indoor/outdoor cat so a tree wasn’t a novelty to play in. A Siamese I had as a kid was such a tree destroyer that my dad ended up attaching a wire from the tree top to the ceiling to keep the tree upright.
Well, I’ll try a couple of my trivia questions here and see if I can get some answers.
1. In India, _____________m arks the biginning of the fiscal year.
2. In Mexico, gifts are exchanged on January 6th to celebrate _____________. (I’m sure that I’ve heard the answer to that before, but I don’t remember it.
3.____________ is a festival in Tibetan Buddhism celebrated usually in February.
4. ____________ Day is celebrated in countries such as Canada, Britain and Australia and stems from the rich boxing up gifts for the poor and their servants. (I KNOW some of you out there can help me with this one!)
5. On Saint Nicholas Day, you did not want to receive __________ in your shoe! (I know that here, we don’t want to find coal in our stockings, but I did not know if that was the answer to this one.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me with these questions and I’ll try asking a few more tomorrow.
You might want to start with the one that’s closest to you, Route Nine. That would be easiest. It would be nice if you just left the tree and it’s ornaments alone, but that probably would never happen. On another note, saw some varied thrushes, a crow and a rabbit while out walking today.

What if, this year, Annie put up unbreakable melamine ornaments? Would that ruin Christmas for you?

Must remember to hit “comment”…
Mix it up this year, Go by color. Red first…
Or better still, crawl underneath and sleep in the glow!

Gleaned from yesterday’s late look in…
It has come to me that a way to get your bed back is to place a box On the bed. Kitty has a place and you can stretch out.
I’m pathological, does that count ? :-)
