Since trump loves authoritarians and wants to emulate them, if we want to get him on board with combating climate change we need to point out that China instituted a low-carbon development policy to limit their own CO2 emissions and become a top manufacturer of green energy tech like wind turbines and solar panels.
As I have pontificated many times before… We the people are not willing to give up our comforts to do much to stop the alleged climate change. We.. are not going to shut off our heating / air conditioning.. walk / climb the stairs.. turn off the Christmas lights..
That guy is proof (if you needed it) that not every farmer or rancher is a dumb hick. When you see the comparison between soil on his side vs the neighbor’s you know he is on to something.
Now the trick is to get farmers and ranchers weaned off of the petro-chemicals they depend on before the latter help kill us off.
And yeah, while the rancher doesn’t really discuss cow flatulence, getting CO2 into the soil is extremely important.
We have excellent CO₂-sucking “technology” It’s called “trees”. Of course if the trees are turned into fuel, that misses the point of CO₂ sequestration. And in any case, just fixing that won’t reverse the changes already under way.
