I don’t see why the reffing should improve. It would leave way too much attention on how bad the playing has become.

Football is a fantastic game for those who appreciate the incredible skill, courage, and determination of these fine athletes. The average person wouldn’t survive one practice — much less years of competition. Players willingly put it all out on the line for the game, and the risks & rewards are enormous.

Bad officiating makes a mockery of their sacrifices. It’s hard to tell if some of these refs are incompetent or have been bought by gamblers. They do know we can see them, don’t they?

Football is a brutal sport, by nothing but overpaid bullies, thugs, murderers, rapists, and a partridge in a pear tree….UGH!

@Tomas; ‘Players willingly put it all out on the line for the game’ and we as a society throw billions of $$ at them while we throw our kids at the teachers whom we expect to make something out of the kids and tell those teachers to not to expect to be able to afford to eat.

Officials are doing the very best they can and it will not get any better. Taking the violence out of an inherently violent sport is impossible.
