Late afternoon in a winter some years ago, sitting outside a meeting hall in my husband’s New England home town, waiting for it to open, our car facing across the road. Suddenly it got darker. I looked around and asked what happened. He said they turned out the airport lights because no other flights were expected. I was looking right AT it and didn’t know it was the [no names mentioned] International Airport. Small towns….GOTTA love ’em!
