I have been working in a call center for over 15 years, half of that time as an agent, a couple of years as a supervisor, and the rest of the time as part of support staff. Calls like this one are not too far outside the norm. I had to call about my cable bill a couple of days ago, and told the guy, “This world would be a better place to live if everyone were made to work in a call center for the first 6 months of out of high school.”
