It is important that we do WHAT’S RIGHT, not what’s politically expedient.
The impeachment of Trump is all about him rejecting Constitutional values in that he actively AND openly solicited help from a foreign power to aid in his domestic political campaign! This runs counter to everything America stands for!
It doesn’t “work” to attempt to find a “law” that Trump “broke” – remember that the Constitution outlined the impeachment process BEFORE there were any American “laws” to break!
If this action is allowed to go unchallenged, then Congress will be establishing a precedent that will effectively destroy democracy.
Our country’s core values have been on “life support” ever since Obama refused to pursue charges against the Bush administration for condoning and even actively encouraging the use of torture in the interrogation process.
If we now allow our president to solicit aid from a foreign government such as Ukraine and China from the lawn of the White House in order to get reelected, we might as well just run the Constitution through a “shredder” – it will be useless for anything other than “mulch”, anyway.
Impeachment MUST BE DONE! It doesn’t matter whether the feckless republicans in the Senate actually DO THEIR DUTY as Americans or not – we must demonstrate to the world (as well as to our children and grandchildren) that we will no longer tolerate the abrogation of the core values of our Constitution for the sake of political expediency.
And it really doesn’t matter if the Senate plays partisan nad just vetoes it sight unseen. The rest of us will have seen it and maybe more Republicans will be for impeachment and conviction.

Trump has made thousands of lawyers very wealthy, except the ones who end up in prison.

Pelosi’s a wise woman, and Schiff’s good too. They’re planning for a pretty long impeachment process.
